The Eugene Pioneer Cemetery Endowment Fund (EPCEF) was established in 1975 as a non-profit corporation. Visionary founders included, the late Alton C. McCully and Donald T. Husband. EPCEF is an adjunct to Eugene Pioneer Cemetery that is on the National Register of Historic Cemeteries. The mission of EPCEF is to provide funds for the maintenance and beautification of the almost 16 acre Eugene Pioneer Cemetery.

The principle is irreducible, which means that interest only can be used for the above. Financial advisors to the Board of Directors invest EPCEF funds. Current EPCEF Board members are: President, Robert A. Carmichael; Treasurer, Sara Leiman; and Secretary, Ruth Lake Holmes. Ingrid Carmichael, Myrna Broekhoff, Everett C. Smith and Quentin A. Holmes are also EPCEF Board members.

It has funded our 3-times yearly work parties using crews from the Lane County Sheriff’s Work Crew. Typically these involve ten workers who cut down underbrush, prune tree limbs, and trim shrubs to maintain sight-access across the cemetery.

The Fund has helped fund a stout, 6-foot tall, wrought iron fence in the Northeast corner of the cemetery. This attractive looking fence serves to bar unsafe access up a steep bank. There is a set of open stairs within 50 ft of this corner of the cemetery. Donations to the Eugene Pioneer Cemetery Endowment Fund are tax deductible. Bequests are also welcome. EPCEF Non-Profit Numbers are, Federal: 51-0175540, State of Oregon: 110200-13. Donations can be mailed to:
